October 28, 2004:   Exploring statin drugs and their effect on the Alzheimer's disease process was a hot topic of scientific presentations at the Society for Neuroscience's annual meeting at San Diego, California this week. The potential of statins, a class of widely prescribed cholesterol-lowering drugs, in the prevention of Alzheimer's disease has been shown in a number of large studies published in Lancet and Archives of Neurology among others. Now new scientific studies are further exploring how statins have an effect on the Alzheimer's disease process, increasing the hope that these well-known safe drugs may provide a new treatment for patients with Alzheimer's disease.

October 8, 2004: Nymox Pharmaceutical Corporation announced today that the Company has secured commitment for $13 million in private equity financing. The funds will be used for general corporate purposes. The private placement of common stock is with institutional investors and is priced at a 3% discount to the market price. There are no warrants with the placement and no restrictions on other corporate financing.

October 7, 2004; Nymox Pharmaceutical Corporation announced today the signing of a licensing agreement with Health Canada for the licensing of patent rights and technology for the treatment of deadly E. coli O157:H7 bacteria in cattle. The licensing agreement is part of a collaboration with Dr. Roger Johnson and the Laboratory for Foodborne Zoonoses in Guelph, Ontario for the research and development of novel animal and related treatments for E. coli O157:H7, a bacteria implicated in contamination of meat products and of drinking water supplies.

September 30, 2004: Nymox's proprietary NXC-4720 product for the treatment of potentially fatal E. coli O157:H7 contamination has applications beyond treatment of meat at the processing stage, according to Michael Munzar, MD, Medical Director of Nymox. E. coli O157 bacteria can not only contaminate meat products such as ground beef but also public water supplies that can become contaminated from run-off from cattle farming operations where there are cattle harboring the deadly bacteria.

In the past twelve months, management and directors bought 94,700 shares with no sales.

The story, “Statins: The Emerging Indications,” outlines the encouraging evidence and notes that further large trials studying statins and Alzheimer's disease are now in progress.
